The fascinating Galapagos Islands
We had an awesome trip with Gordon and Debbie Archibald to one of South America’s most beautiful natural wilderness habitats – the Galapagos Archipelago. Our travel itinerary included Johannesburg, Lima, Quito and Baltra Island to reach this jewel of South America.
Cruising the Galapagos Islands on the Silver Galapagos was an unforgettable experience – exploring the rugged beauty and mystery of the prehistoric volcanic islands, islets and rocky outcrops, made famous by the English naturalist, Charles Darwin in 1835. Each of our twice-daily excursions was enhanced though experiencing amazing wildlife sightings, hiking amongst colossal gatherings of interesting and unique bird species, walking along coastal cliffs, lava-blackened terrains and pristine beaches and snorkelling amongst fabulous marine life. The Galapagos Archipelago, situated at the “end of the earth,” is full of incredible geology, history, eco-systems and nature. One of the truly special getaway places in our world!
